COMMUNICATIVE-DISCURSIVE FEATURES GENRE OF POLITICAL LETTER ON SOCIAL NETWORK

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of the genre of the post in the social network in the communicative-discursive aspect. The theoretical basis of research was the typology of political discourse of the Ukrainian specialist N.V. Kondratenko and the French researcher P. Charaudeau. The study is based on official posts on the social network Facebook of French President E. Macron and the leader of the French right-wing radical party “National Union” M. Le Pen. The study found that the key communicative and discursive characteristics of political writing in the social network are: 1) writing associated with the written form of communication with the receiver (as opposed to oral communication); 2) mediated by social networks (as opposed to mediated by other electronic or print media or television); 3) a combination of informativeness and influence, in which politicians use the official pages of social networks to inform their supporters and to influence the general public in order to convince them and attract them to their side; 4) mass addressing; 5) belonging to the political discourse of the Internet, which operates alongside television political discourse, newspaper, radio and advertising political discourse; 6) creating the illusion of close, trusting communication between the producent and the receiver, because there is no real reduction in the distance between communicators. Political posts systematically and persistently create a certain image of reality in the interests of the author, which is defined as manipulation. Manipulation is realized due to the dominance of the emotional principle over the rational, the predominance in the posts of emotions and assessments over the facts and explanations. Semantic uncertainty plays a significant role in “constructing” a positive image of reality in the imagination of the audience. This implies the following features of a political post on a social network, such as: 7) manipulativeness; 8) emotionality; 9) semantic uncertainty.
