DEVELOPMENT OF LEXICAL AND STYLISTIC SYSTEM OF FRENCH LANGUAGE AS THE REFLECT OF THE EVOLUTION OF THE CONCEPTUAL PICTURE OF THE WORLD OF FRENCH ETHNOS

Abstract

The article is devoted to revealing the cognitive bases of the forming and development of the lexical and stylistic system of modern French which is viewed from the cognitive lexicographical perspective. The main concept of the given theses is that the lexical and stylistic system of the language is a cognitive means of recording, storing, applying the knowledge and its evolution can reflect the evolution of the conceptual picture of the world of ethnos. The stylistic meaning of the linguistic sign represents a stylistic subconcept – the expressive and evaluative quantum of knowledge about the concept, which is based on the associative and figurative perception of the surrounding reality. The stylistic stratification of the verbal part of the basic concepts of modern French such as «homme» and «femme» are analyzed (1968-2016). It is proved that the general regularity of the development of the stylistic system of modern French is the tendency of weakening of its stylistic potential at the expense of the expansion of the spheres of functioning of its elements, reflected in the lexicographical sources, which is manifested in the democratization of the language, its familiarization and vulgarization.
